332nd Activities - May 1946

By May 1946 the 332nd was actively involved in rebuilding the airstrip at Weisbaden. At the time it was known as Fliegerhorst Wiesbaden. It came to be called Weisbaden Army Airfield (WAAF) and is still in operation today. When the Air Force was established as a separate service in 1947, Wiesbaden was selected as the site of the Air Force Headquarters in Europe, serving in that role until 1975.
